    Asharqia Chamber presents its best greetings to you, and would like to inform you about receiving the letter of the Council of Saudi Chambers (L / L / 2491) dated 13/9/1439 AH, which referred to the letter of the Public Transport Authority (03589-39-001) dated (2/9/1439) that referred to the letter addressed to His Excellency the Chairman of the Transport Authority No. 3252 dated 17/8/1439 AH, which is addressed to the Director of Public Security that referred to the record of the meeting of the committee formed between the Public Transport Authority and the Command of the Public Security Service and the General Traffic Department on 21/5/1439 AH.

    The problem-based on the speech of His Excellency the Chairman of the Transport Authority No. (546) dated (7/5/1439) that addressed to the Director of Public Security- is on the study and treatment of parking mechanism for buses at the checkpoints on the highways, which require them to row and wait with trucks right track. Buses were required to use the lane for trucks (right lane) during the crossing of highways, which increases the travel time for users of public transport.

     The above-mentioned record contains the following:

     

    -Allowing buses to use the middle track at checkpoints if available.

     -In case of its closure, the left lane shall be used that the bus is moving from the right track to these two tracks gradually and that the distance from which the bus starts from the right track to one of these two tracks shall not exceed 300 meters before the checkpoint, so that the traffic does not cause a traffic jam at the checkpoint.

    -Allowing buses to use the middle path when overtaking and returning to their path directly.
